Ab und zu bekomme ich Caco-Biegepuppen,
die stark beschädigt oder so sehr verschmutzt sind,
dass ich sie nicht in eine Stube stellen möchte.
Oft kann ich sie noch reparieren.

Ein Bein des Jungen links ist mit Pflaster umwickelt,
weil der Draht gebrochen ist.
Den Draht kann man einfach verstärken.

Das Bein ist wieder heil.
The leg is healed.
Verschmutzte Puppen kann man gut reinigen.
Über dem Drahtgestell ist je nach Alter der Puppe
Holzwolle oder Schaumstoff als Füllmaterial gewickelt.
Darüber wird in immer derselben Technik
ein hautfarbenes Baumwollband gewickelt.
Ich traue mir nicht, die gesamte Puppe einzuweichen,
denn wie soll das Innere dann richtig trocknen?
Also müssen wir das Baumwollband abwickeln -
und uns genau merken, wo der Anfang und wo das Ende war.
Das etwa 2 Meter lange Baumwollband und die Kleidung
kann gut gewaschen werden.
Dann wickeln wir es wieder über den Puppenkörper
und nähen mit ein paar Stichen die Kleidung wieder auf.
Das ist mit ein wenig Übung,
z.B. mit einer sehr beschädigten Puppe,
nicht so schwer.
From time to time I receive Caco dolls that are badly damaged or so dirty
that I don't want to put them in a dollhouse.
I can often repair them and dirty dolls can be cleaned well.
Depending on the age of the doll,
wood wool or foam is wrapped over the wire frame as filling material.
A skin-coloured cotton ribbon is wrapped over this
alway using the same technique.
I don't dare to soak the whole doll,
because then how can the inside dry properly?
So we have to unwind the cotton ribbon -
and remember exactly where it started and where it ended.
The cotton ribbon is about 2 metres long
and the clothes can be washed easily.
Then we wrap it back over the doll's body
and sew the clothes back on with a few stitches.
With a little practice, e.g. with a very damaged doll,
this is not so difficult.
Komplizierter wird es, wenn Körperteile fehlen,
die Füße/Schuhe oder eine Hand oder sogar der Kopf.
In den Metallschuhen, dem Kopf oder der Hand,
steckt ursprünglich der Draht des Körpergerüsts.
Je nach Beschädigung und handwerklicher Ausrüstung gibt es viele Wege,
die Ersatzteile wieder an den Draht zu befestigen.
Ich habe die Schuhe von anderen, viel beschädigteren Puppen,
an den Draht gelötet, manchmal reicht auch einfaches Zusammenstecken
und festes Wickeln.
Einen Kopf anzulöten, ist mir noch nie gelungen.
Das Spezialwerkzeug, um ein Loch in den Kopf zu bohren,
damit der Draht hineingesteckt werden kann,
habe ich leider nicht.

Vorne links sieht man ein Mädchen mit fehltendem Fuß
und Pflaster am rechten Bein.

Diesem Mädchen habe ich relativ unkompliziert mit einem Ersatzschuh
geholfen, dabei musste ich noch nicht mal das Kleid ausziehen.
Auch das Pflaster konnte ich entfernen
und das Bein mit einem neuen Draht verstärken.

Dem linken Jungen fehlte ursprünglich ein Schuh
und er war stark verschmutzt.
Der rechte Junge hatte vorher gar keine Schuhe mehr.
Die Caco-Dame war nur sehr verschmutzt.
Auf dem übernächstem Foto ist sie mit dem
gewaschenen Baumwollband zu sehen.
Die fehlenden Schuhe kommen aus meinem Ersatzteilfundus.
Ich habe den Draht daran festgelötet.

The missing shoes come from my stock of spare parts.
I soldered the wire to it.
so dass ich schon einige Puppen retten konnte.
I now have a large stock of spare parts from damaged Caco dolls,
so I have already been able to rescue a few dolls.
